Business Formation, Planning and Transactions
Mr. Bassett’s corporate practice emphasizes representation of closely held businesses (S corporations, Limited Liability Companies, C corporations, etc. including Professional Corporations and PLLC’s), with an emphasis on representation of professional practices (doctors, dentists, architects, accountants, engineers, lawyers, etc.). His practice includes advising clients in the formation, acquisition, merger, sale or termination of such businesses, as well as the general planning, business transactions, contracts and agreements of such entities. In addition, he has particular expertise in preparing employment agreements and independent contractor agreements on behalf of professional entities.
Estate and Trust Planning and Administration
Mr. Bassett devotes substantial time to estate planning and taxation, including the drafting of wills and revocable trusts, as well as the utilization of more sophisticated estate planning techniques. Much of his estate planning practice is focused on serving the estate planning and business succession planning needs of his professional and closely held business clients. His practice also includes trust and estate administration, probate, the preparation and filing of estate and gift tax returns, and general estate tax planning and consultation.
Mr. Bassett has been selected for inclusion in Mountain States Super Lawyers-Rising Stars in the category of Business/Corporate Law.
